Background to the Role

Mercer's Investments business, Mercer Delegated Solutions , is a leading provider of investment consulting and fiduciary management services globally.

We offer customised advice and support at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process.

The Delegated Solutions business, catering for clients who wish to delegate the implementation of their investment strategy, has grown very rapidly over recent years and manages in excess of US$150bn globally.

The European delegated solutions business was established in 2006 and currently manages assets in excess of $70bn.Investment is via Mercer’s Irish domiciled fund range, which consists of 70+ Irish domiciled sub funds across 4 umbrella structures.

The business has experienced significant growth over the last number of years and significant further growth is anticipated over the coming years due to client demand and an evolving market.

To enable this growth, a continuous improvement program is in place to ensure the infrastructure and operating models are optimised.

There is an opportunity to join the Technology and Operational Change team in a IT Risk Analyst role.

The Opportunity

The TOC team is embedded in the Operations Department and currently consists of 9 team members in Dublin. This niche team have responsibility for developing and implementing the strategic technology vision for the business.

TOC has three defined teams but with a flexible resourcing model :

  • Strategic team which focuses on large scale IT implementations
  • Operational Change team which focuses on Business Improvement & Support
  • IT Risk & Technology Governance
  • The department is led by the Head of IT and Managers within those teams. The IT Risk Analyst will report into the Head of IT Risk & Technology Governance.

    Specific duties and responsibilities :

  • Assist in delivery of key Business IT initiatives on a timely basis.
  • Development of and the adherence to a best practice governance structure for Technology
  • A good understanding of ISO Principles and knowledge of common information security management frameworks standards, such as ISO 27001 & NIST
  • Report on the design and operation effectiveness of Information Security Controls.
  • Operational management of the Information Security Risk Management process, maintaining the risk register and providing the required reporting
  • Assist the Independent Service Auditor with the ISAE 3402 Type II assessment and the production of the final ISAE Type II Type II report on an annual basis
  • Liaise with business development & client teams to provide Technology, BCP, Cyber & IT Risk information to client RFP’s
  • Provides correlation and trending of Program’s cyber incident activity
  • Support and collaborate in an interdependent way on Regulatory projects
  • Successfully manage the relationship with all stakeholders and Third party providers.

  • The Individual

  • A graduate with experience in the funds and / or Investments industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years related technical experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document incident investigation calls with other technology teams
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner.
