Job Overview Reporting to the Head of Product Solutions (DS) Europe, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Product Solutions Team and a subject matter expert to support the sales effort from an operational perspective in this key new segment.

Key aspects of the role are : Sales Support

  • The key focus for the candidate will be to support the business with its targets in the wealth management sector.
  • Liaise with the local and regional Sales and Technical sales teams to prepare presentations on all operational aspects from fund structure to operating model.
  • Assist with scoping the operational model and service deliverables. This may involve : New market entry On-boarding with distribution platforms Related tax and regulatory requirements Large client bespoke solutions
  • Contribute to operational sales effectiveness by establishing relationships with the Sales Team and Consultants and co-
  • ordinating every day interactions dealing with prioritisation, queries and general information sharing.

  • As large clients move from potential to win, liaise with various teams in Dublin to ensure a smooth transition to implementation phase.
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officers and Heads of Operations to ensure that all non-standard and / or new processes are sufficiently managed and controlled from a risk perspective.

  • As Mercer enters new markets, provide input and support in all aspects including tax and regulatory requirements liaising with our internal legal and compliance depts.
  • Answer ad hoc requests and assist with special projects as needed; for example, budget process, other sales initiatives.

  • Assistance with the completion and peer review of RFP’s responses ensuring that the appropriate sign-offs from the various subject matter experts are in place.
  • Responsibility for building up capability to respond quickly and professionally to RFP requests
  • Solutions Delivery

  • Ensure that the work of the project team is well planned, resourced with the right skills and that all products whether new or changes to existing products are adequately scoped at the outset and delivered on a timely basis with a quality output.
  • Maintain structured reporting and consultation with key stakeholders, updating them as appropriate with progress, costs, risks and issues.
  • Ensure BAU involvement to ensure smooth handover post project completion.
  • Attend relevant product meetings and forums to represent projects and drive the necessary decisions / escalations.
  • Recommend and drive forward improvements to processes and practices in line with industry best practice.
  • Relationship Management

  • Establish excellent working relationships with operations, client services, sales teams, Investments, Compliance and Legal by ensuring that we have regular feedback sessions with these areas covering items such as service levels, quality etc.
  • Through the use of the project plans, work with each area involved in the product development process to ensure all parties are clear with regard their responsibilities and deliver within the project timelines.
  • Manage the various parties in the product process to work together to achieve all agreed deadlines and that any slippages in the timetable or issues arising are agreed up front and communicated in an agreed manner to the client.
  • Demonstrate a consistent commitment to service quality at all times through individual actions and communications with the team.
  • Skills and Experience

  • Possess a strong understanding of both the asset management and funds industry, including fund legal structures and regulatory frameworks (UCITS and AIFs) and applicable asset management regulations.
  • Experience of working directly in and / or indirectly with the wealth management sector within Irish, UK and / or European markets essential.
  • Possess a good understanding of the distribution requirements for Irish funds across global jurisdictions within the wealth management sector.
  • Experience of working with fund distribution platforms is an advantage.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and proven ability to manage complex projects in a pressurised, highly visible and deadline driven environment.
  • Effective relationship building skills to ensure that you work collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
  • Good analytical skills to review and analyse information / situations to identify, articulate the issues on hand and propose solutions.
  • Positive can-do attitude essential.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic high performing team, supporting your team mates while driving and managing your own projects.
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience working within the Asset Management Industry, with a relevant university degree
