Title : Assistant Accountant (Temporary Contract) Department : Finance Location : Lismeehan, O’Callaghan’s Mills Reporting to : Financial Accountant Level : Finance & Accounting : B3 -

Accounting Main Responsibilities include : While this role is mainly Accounts Payable role, it includes potential exposure to / experience in many aspects of finance functions for a progressive candidate.

  • Accounts Payable :
  • Responsible for processing and updating transactions of the accounting systems of the company.
  • Processing Supplier invoices direct posting and matching, getting appropriate invoice approvals.
  • Supplier Payments, Purchase Card P-Card payments & Inter Company netting
  • Creditor Reconciliations. Dealing with supplier queries - investigate, follow up and close out in timely manner.
  • AP forecasting and monitoring
  • GRNI Analysis monitor & investigate aged items
  • Accounts Payable Month End revaluation and reconciliation of AP, Open and Aged Suppliers listing, update of inter-company balances
  • Other Journal / General Ledger processing and assist in other month end close activity.
  • Revenue and CSO returns : Irish VAT return, Intrastat, Monthly CSO : Production Enquiry, Price Index and other statistical returns.
  • Expenditure Analysis including Credit Card spend analysis.
  • Support Annual Financial Audit.
  • Participate in finding and implementing improvements, focus on team-building, support cross functional activity within the department.
  • Other Ad-hoc / quarterly / annual tasks.
  • Education and Experience

  • A third level qualification in Business / Accounting or equivalent
  • Experience of working with integrated accounting software, knowledge of Oracle an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Excellent understanding of basic accounting debits and credits
  • Experience of working in a high volume environment an advantage
  • Team player good to communicate, good to participate and also work on own initiative
