Department Overview

The Tax Information Reporting department ( TIR ) is the centralised team responsible for Citi’s US tax information reporting functions.

Comprising operations and project teams, TIR provides support for Citi businesses globally, covering all aspects of US tax compliance including tax document processing, withholding and reporting.

Team / Position Overview

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join TIR Projects Team. The purpose of this role is to perform business analysis for regulatory change-

driven initiatives that impact TIR and the Citi businesses that TIR supports. This will include leading analysis for regulatory, business and technology projects while serving as the intermediary between TIR and other functions within Citi.

The role is responsible for undertaking comprehensive business analysis globally and some level of project management activities for TIR-

supported businesses globally and across a range of functions (e.g. operations, technology, front office, legal, corporate tax).

Key Responsibilities : Business Analysis

Business Analysis

  • Communicate with internal colleagues, cross-regionally, to understand the needs of departments and the organisation as a whole;
  • Refine the varying messages as well as the requirements of the project stakeholders into a consistent, single vision.
  • Gain agreement, usually from senior management, of the best method of introducing recommendations to the business;
  • Communicate the benefits of recommendations across departments and help to address any uncertainty and concern;
  • Use data and process modelling practices to analyse the findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes;
  • Identify the processes and information technology required to introduce recommendations;
  • Coordinate functional and design workshops with technology teams located globally.
  • Support the Project Planning and Implementation

  • Support the Project Manager with the execution of project deliverables such as WBS, Business Case, Project Charter, RAID Logs, etc.
  • Support Technology teams during development and implementation, while ensuring requirements are being implemented as agreed.
  • User Acceptance Testing

  • Coordinate UAT for the rollout of vendor applications across TIR.
  • Act as point of contact between the vendor and internal teams during UAT.
  • Technical Writing, Decision Making and Problem Solving

  • Prepare Business Cases and Cost / Benefit analysis
  • Prepare Business Requirements documents
  • Prepare Use Cases and business process flows
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes
  • Review Functional Specification documents
  • Review vendor documentation such as specification and API documentation.
  • Qualifications

    Experience and Skills : Required :

  • Third Level qualification in Technical or Business-related discipline
  • At least extensive years experience working as a Business Analyst.
  • Problem solver, with experience using Business Analysis skills and techniques, to elicit information and produce deliverables to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business resources, at all levels of management and external stakeholders.
  • Past experience working on multi-country projects.
  • Ability to organize multiple parallel tasks / streams; a self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience using Visual Studio, or JIRA, or HP ALM for project related work (requirements elicitation and testing) is required.
  • Experience using Visio, Blueworks or other process modeling tools. Highly Desired :
  • Financial Services experience or exposure to Tax Information would be an advantage
  • Proven record of managing small projects.
