JOB PURPOSE / ROLE

As a property claims handler, you will deliver excellent standards of customer service through high quality and efficient handling of policyholders claims.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Registering, handling and settling both household and commercial property damage claims
  • Recording all customer transactions and decisions accurately and comprehensively
  • Complying with company quality standards and financial services authority requirements for claims handling
  • Achieving agreed targets in relation to settlement rate, calls answered and completions
  • Liaising with others to obtain and deliver information that is critical to service and control of claims costs
  • Identifying potentially fraudulent cases and escalating them to colleagues in our Fraud Investigation Unit (FIU)
  • Ensure the recovery procedure is adhered to on any recovery / potential recovery case
  • KEY REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

    Essential

  • Completed an APA, CIP or a relevant insurance qualification to meet MCC requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of policies of insurance, particularly property (domestic and commercial) within a Claims Handling role
  • Skilled communicator & negotiator, with ability to work on initiative and manage own time effectively
  • Minimum of 3 years Property Claims Handling experience
  • Desirable

  • Relevant third level qualification
  • MS Excel to Intermediate Level
