The Position

Reporting to Test Team Lead and responsible for ensuring the quality of software delivered.

Hands on functional testing of core products against requirements throughout the entire project life cycle.

Test preparation tasks including test estimates, test case design and creation of test data for assigned projects.

Bug management, incorporating triage meetings, status reporting, bug categorisation / prioritisation and issue escalation.

Manual test execution using a mix of scripted and non-scripted (Exploratory) testing.

Support the near future strategy to advance the test automation agenda.

Represent the End User, with a focus on functional and non-functional testing.

Proactively communicating, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with support and development teams.

Work as part of an agile multi-functional systems team.

Capability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Continuously contribute to improvements that enhance the Test Process and improve overall Quality Assurance practices.

Individual with good inter-personal and team-working skills.

Must be capable of interacting with business, financial and operational staff and understand non-technical business requirements and business processes.

Focused individual capable of using own initiative with the ability to lead and complete assignments on schedule while paying meticulous attention to detail and quality.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and good multi-tasking skills a must

The Person

Degree in computing, engineering or related field.

Candidates should have 2+ years of relevant QA experience testing Web, Desktop, Webservice and database applications.

Knowledge of the Banking / Financial Services industry.

Have a good understanding of Software Testing techniques and processes, including test case development and execution.

Experience using test and test case management tools i.e. TFS, JIRA

Good knowledge and experience working in an Agile team.

Experience working with SQL Server writing and updating SQL scripts.

Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines is a must.

Good Test Analysis / troubleshooting skills.

Work on a highly driven team to deliver rapid testing for multiple clients.

Work with the development and product teams to understand the Functional requirements.

Monitor bug resolution efforts and escalate identified risks as and when they occur.

An ability to learn and understand complex business processes.

ISTQB certification not required but would be a plus.

Programming experience is desirable, preferably in C#.

Experience working with Test data management and / or data quality.
