Functional Area : RK - Risk Estimated Travel Percentage (%) : No Travel Relocation Provided : No AIG Europe (Services) Limited (Ireland Branch) Manage operational risk as defined by the AIG ORM framework for in accordance with AIG Corporate and Investments / Finance (including Treasury and Tax) requirements.

Manage individual operational risk book of work in line with goals and direction set by the Head of Investments / Finance Operational Risk, and in coordination with others on the ORM team.

Contribute to the satisfactory completion of individual goals as well as the goals and objectives of the department. Identify and monitor top operational risk and control issues by working closely with Investments / Finance staff in coverage areas.

Work closely with other risk and control partners to assess adequacy of risk mitigation efforts, and ensure appropriate escalation and procedures are in place.

  • Work with stakeholders and colleagues to develop risk mitigation actions.Oversee the completion of actions by reviewing timelines and deliverables;
  • report status of risk mitigating actions, and use judgment to determine appropriate escalation. Execute requirements of the ORM framework programs (e.

    g. risk event reporting, key risk indicators, RCSAs, etc.) including those related to key projects, and serve as SME for coverage areas.

    Provide operational risk guidance, and contribute to presentations and applicable regulatory meetings in support of local regulatory requirements.

    Maintain experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements as applicable for operational risk. Foster relationships with management for coverage area in the business units and control functions and promote a proactive risk culture.

    Assess operational risk associated with new products or new transactions as key stakeholder responsible for operational risk in NPNT process.

    Provide operational risk reporting and input to the relevant risk and governance committees and forums, and contribute to agendas to reflect changes in the overall risk and control environment for Investments / Finance.

    Recognize emerging risks to the businesses and work with Investments / Finance to assess level of risk and appropriate actions to be taken.

    Coordinate efforts with stakeholders to utilize analytics and tools to assess operational risk, and work to improve tools for assessing and reporting risk.

    Provide training on operational risk framework elements (e.g., RCSAs, risk event capture, analysis and reporting, scenario analysis, and key risk indicators) with focus on specific coverage area for product(s) and / or framework elements.

    Engage, as appropriate, with other risk and control partners (e.g. Internal Audit, Financial Controls, Legal & Compliance, Model Risk Management, BCM, Vendor Management, IT Risk, to facilitate a strong governance, risk, and control environment while leveraging and minimizing duplication of efforts.

    Position Requirements : Experience and understanding of Operational Risk and / or Securities operations, including knowledge of Operational Risk framework elements and terminology, as well as solid understanding of the principals of the 3 Lines of Defense : Minimum 4-5 years of Operational Risk or similar risk and control (or related, I.

    e. Operations or Treasury) experience; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Master’s degree a plus; Strong working knowledge of financial services industry, e.

  • g., asset management, private equity / real estate and / or insurance industry; Experience providing effective review & challenge to business / front office first line of defense;
  • Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and ability to influence through positive methods;
  • Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills; Demonstrated ability to establish effective, independent working relationships with mid-and senior-level managers;
  • Strong, broad-based communication skills, and presentation skills; Pro-active and forward-thinking. Takes pride in adding value to his / her organization.
