Job Description

Cpl Healthcare have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Social Care professional. Our client is a well-established private organisation supporting vulnerable young people and adults with additional and complex needs such as emotional, behavioural or mental health.

They are seeking a new Person in Charger / Manager to directly manage a residential service, delivering a high quality, level of care to the service users, enhancing the unique potential of all those in care.

Responsibilities :

  • As the Person in Charge, you will have the over-all responsibility for the house ensuring a high quality of care is provided
  • Create and maintain a safe, caring and stable environment for all those in our care
  • Work closely with your team and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that therapeutic care programmes for each young person / adult are agreed, implemented through daily social care practices and monitored on an ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate and role model trauma-informed Social Care practice and the delivery of therapeutic care, interacting with young people / adults in your home on a regular basis
  • Ensure that BSPs, support plans, risk assessments, MAPA matrices and all other standard documentation is in place and regularly reviewed for each young person / adult
  • Review and provide final sign off for all regular reports for each young person / adult
  • Comply with agreed admissions and discharge policies as per service agreements and regulations, including the development and delivery of transition plans and support plans
  • Plan for the future of the young people / adults in consultation with them, their family, your team, the multi-disciplinary team and appropriate services / agencies
  • Promote the rights and responsibilities of each young person / adult
  • Act as the designated liaison for all Child Protection and / or Safeguarding matters, delegating this responsibility to a specific person whenever you are absent
  • Lead relevant meetings including care planning meetings, PCP meetings, care review meetings, team meetings, Individual Review and Planning meetings, house meetings and follow up on all actions
  • Ensure the home is always prepared for Inspections, leading any inspections which take place and following up on required actions
  • Maintain internal audit systems, ensuring that regular standard checks, rights review committee and all other documentation are completed and fed back to MDTs.
  • Requirements :

  • Minimum level 7 in Social Care or related discipline
  • 5 years experience relevant to the role, 3 of which should be at a leadership / supervisory level
  • Excellent working knowledge on Childrens First, The Child Care Act, The Disability Act and National Standards for residential services for both children and adults with disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead a team of social care staff
  • Experience carrying out supervision with staff
  • Effectively plan, develop and implement policies and procedures, as per regulations
  • Effectively manage budgets and resources
  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft
  • Ability to drive change successfully
  • Full, clean driving license
