Novas is a voluntary organization and aims to provide services that empower people by creating opportunities for positive change through housing, health and recovery.

Novas is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor on a full time permanent contract in Head Office, Limerick. The successful candidate must demonstrate the necessary skills to ensure the organisation meets all of its legal obligations in relation to Health and Safety.

Salary Scale : €33,880 to €40,350 (plus essential car users allowance and company pension).

Job Description

  • To develop, maintain and ensure the health and safety standards of the organisation are upheld in accordance with health and safety legislation.
  • To co-ordinate health and safety within Novas, including all its projects, all its services and any new projects that may be either developed or procured by the organisation.
  • Provide leadership, management and support for all matters relating to health and safety.
  • S / he will have a thorough and critical understanding of policies and protocols in health & safety and risk management.
  • Applicants for this post must have :

  • Recognised qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Up to 2 years’ experience within a Health and Safety Environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Irish regulatory compliance procedures, publications and an ability to interpret relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative within a team and to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Full clean driver’s license.
