An ideal candidate will have a background in bioinformatics, data science or computational biology. The candidate should have at least a first degree and preferably a post-

graduate qualification (e.g. Masters or PhD) in a life science, ideally molecular biology, biological engineering or medicinal chemistry.

However, we are also open to candidates with an interdisciplinary background including computer sciences, knowledge of coding or mathematics as applied to biological or pharmacological problems.

The candidate will need to demonstrate confidence in written English, a willingness to engage with our energetic client base, as well as a keen interest in intellectual property law and the commercial exploitation of science.

The ability to converse in an additional language to English could be advantageous but is not essential.

A successful candidate will be awarded a one year training contract with Keltie in our London office to develop their skills and experience further.

The typical starting salary will range from £30,000 to £33,000 (+ benefits) depending upon experience and qualifications.

Successful completion of the training contract will lead to a permanent position as a trainee patent attorney with the firm in either our London or Cambridge offices contingent upon the candidate’s preferred location.

Candidates will be supported through the process of qualification to become a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and also a European Patent Attorney.

We uphold the highest standards in our work, serving our clients with a unique blend of energy and professionalism. The pride we feel in our firm is surpassed only by our excitement for what we plan to achieve together.
