The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic and an ability to work independently and as part of a team with meticulous attention to detail.
The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support in relation to the running of the clinic to include dealing with telephone enquiries, booking appointments, tests and procedures, getting files / charts ready for clinics, collecting monies, dictation and any other administrative duties.
Answering of incoming telephone calls in a professional manner
Accurate scheduling of appointments
Preparation of patient charts for clinics
Receive patients, visitors and answer general queries
Ensure that patient signature, processing bill, issuing receipts are carried out in accordance with clinics SOPs
Completing of typing accurately and follow up for all patient related correspondence
Have an excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
The candidate must be well presented and professional in their demeanour
At least 2 years of medical secretary experience is desirable
Previous experience in a healthcare setting
An understanding of the right of patients to confidentiality
Have a positive and pleasant disposition
Complies with policies and procedures with keen attention to detail
Assume responsibility for one’s work
Works well under pressure
Has an understanding of the right of patients to confidentiality
Exhibits ability to work as a member of the team by helping others, communicating and handing over effectively
