  • About the role

  • As a Data Scientist / Engineer in the ACIA, you will be a key member of the Advanced Analytics / Data Science team. You will assist the management team in creating value through the application of advanced analytics techniques to data assets within Aon.
  • In the role you will :

  • Leverage and extend Aon’s largest repository of risk and insurance placement data, hosted in AWS cloud, through the range of available tools and services.
  • Drive the creation of all Machine Learning / AI solutions to industrial standards, ensuring their effective automation and operation.
  • Develop and promote standards for Python / Scala and all other ML-related frameworks and languages.
  • Collaborate with local engineering teams to deepen the adoption of cloud native services and deliver integration into our core analytics distribution platform.
  • Take existing proofs of concept and work with the Data Scientists to bring these models into production.
  • About You

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent (PhD, M.Sc. preferred)
  • 4+ years’ experience in Python / Scala and Machine Learning (decision trees, multivariate and logistic regression, kNN, kMeans, NLP, Neural Networks etc.
  • Experience with Deep Learning, Hadoop, Spark a benefit

  • 4+ years’ experience in data analysis, applied statistics or econometrics in a business environment with large-scale, complex data-sets.
  • Strong communicator articulating the commercial value of data and analytics to senior stakeholders / clients (internal & external) through data visualization and storytelling.
  • Inquisitive ability to dig into new and challenging datasets, uncovering pertinent and business relevant information.
  • Analytical mind-set problem solving through analytical techniques that meet the rigorous standards of the data science industry.
  • 4+ years building robust machine learning models in a production environment, understanding how to write production ready code.
  • Experience with Docker, UNIX systems, TeamCity, Octopus essential.
  • Experience with agile or lean development practices a benefit.
