  • What will I be doing?

    Typical activities will include the following :

  • Provide guidance andexpertise to professional staff and participate in the conduct of a wide rangeof assurance services, with a particular focus on complex and specialisedissues, including both internal and external audits, controls reviews,remediation projects, and assistance with regulatory compliance
  • Develop team members byencouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility fortheir contributions to the team.
  • Develop technical expertise both functionaland industry.

  • Becoming an integralpart of a team by providing coaching and on the job training to lessexperienced staff and effectively communicating and consulting with seniormanagement and partners on key audit issues.
  • Being involved in extracurricula activities including charity, recruitment and social events to exposeand strengthen the EY brand and connect with the local community.
  • Oversee the auditprocess from start to finish, being a main contact for both the client and otherEY team members, ensuring that quality and efficiency are maintained throughoutthe process.
  • Be involved inundertaking audits in a new and changing environment including using the latesttechnical tools available to assist with audits and provide clients with agreater insight into their own businesses.
  • Understand the clientsindustry, key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical andindustry developments.
  • Plan and develop engagementobjectives to ensure compliance with professional standards and appropriatelyaddress risk.
  • Prepare and reviewmanagement communications, proposals budgets, and negotiate fees and overruns
  • Review and approve forsigning all financial statements, opinions and reports and other deliverabledocuments for clients.
  • Maintain relationshipswith other engagement teams and monitor team progress against plan and driveperformance as required.
  • Identify new businessopportunities. Understand our service lines and actively assess ways to applyknowledge and services.
  • Develop long term relationships and networks bothinternally and externally.

  • Candidates for ManagerRoles must have a proven track record of outstanding performance and display ahigh level of people and business skills.
  • They will also be expected to haveshown an on-going commitment to their personal and professional developmentthrough continuing education and development.

    What do we look for?

    Requirements for prospective candidates include :

  • Qualified Accountant-e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified with full Big 4 training
  • Ideally South AfricanPassport holder
  • Specialised in FinancialServices or Industry Commerce & Technology audit
  • Minimum 3 years (Seniorlevel) or 5 years (Manager level) assurance experience in Big 4
  • A proven track record inmaintaining strong client relationships
  • Dedicated to teamworkand leadership
  • Experience withInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with US GAAP experiencepreferable, but not required
  • Strong verbal andwritten communications skills
