Job DescriptionThe Technology Sales Consultant role will be a key contributor to the success of the UK&I region. The role is part of the sales process and its main responsabilities is to fully understand a prospect’s business problem and construct a solution around that problem leveraging the Hitachi Vantara solution suite.

The successful candidate requires a high level of sales and business maturity, operate independently in pre-sales activities and have the proven ability to quickly understand business problems and find the appropriate Hitachi Vantara technology offerings and differentiators.

Key Responsibilities Participate in strategic pre-sales engagements with prospects and customers and deliver Hitachi Vantara's business proposition presentations and demonstrations.

Demonstrate leadership as a technical evangelist for Hitachi Vantara. Use the knowledge and / or the understanding of the major customers’ requirement to provide and / or propose commercially and viable product / solution improvement feedbacks of large and complex customer requirements involving senior management where needed.

Become the recognized technology expert in the Vantara portfolio and educate, share knowledge and motivate the Account Managers and customers to increase successful closure of opportunities to drive revenue.

Ensure discipline of excellence and passion throughout the team to create a culture of exceptional quality and customer focused approach.

Demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness in consultative technology sales using whiteboard briefings, solution demos and supporting technical and commercial information.

Oversee the qualification and bid management process to ensure that Hitachi Vantara is bidding for business that it can win.

Provide answers to (technical) questions in a Request for Information; (RFI) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) Build custom demonstrations aligned with customers’ / prospect key business initiatives.

Ensure the successful delivery of Proof of Concepts (POC) that are tied to the customers’ success criteria and business initiatives.

Maintain a high degree of knowledge of all products and services including roadmaps and regular liaison with Product Management.

Stay abreast of key industry and business issues, options and advancements relevant to the area of specialization. Leverage the use of supporting functions such as the DoC (configure and quote) and other virtual team resources.

Understanding of similar Hitachi Vantara technologies i.e. VMware, Oracle, Azure, enterprise storage solutions, analytics, mobility, managed services and cloud deployments etc.

Qualifications

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience Degree or equivalent 6 years plus of relevant Enterprise IT experience in a similar solution environments to Hitachi Vantara Ability to discuss and demonstrate business benefits and value to a customer of a technical solution.

Ability to translate technical and business requirements into cost-efficient solution. Proven skills in sales & presales at a relevant level of exceptional success.

Ability to present to, engage with and positively influence sales, pre-sales and management colleagues (inside and outside of Vantara) to secure business for the Vantara portfolio to achieve the UK&I revenue targets.

Excelent communication skills; written and verbal. A team player with the ability to adopt a leadership role where necessary.

Ability to work alone to drive customer activity and engagement. Proven ability to work in a cross functional / matrixed team.
