We are seeking an experienced threat investigator to deeply understand how harmful activities and threats (in areas like child safety) manifest, investigate complex threats, advance investigative methods and use innovative research approaches to protect vulnerable people from threatening and harmful activity.

This is a full-time position based in our Dublin office.Security Engineer Investigator, Online Safety ResponsibilitiesDevelop deep understanding of how bad actors use and target victims on Facebook and highlight emerging threats and trendsInvestigate complex cases to understand in granular detail how abuse is occurring and attribute the person(s) responsible.
Identify enforcement strategies to mitigate harm both in the current case and from similar forward-looking abuse.Research how threats show up within the ecosystem and deeply understand how abuse manifests.
Discover and clearly explain emerging threats and trends.Analyze and interpret large datasets to advance investigations, quantify trends or support findings.
Identify effective strategies to prevent or disrupt abuse at scale. Consult on the design of countermeasures to effect those strategies.
Proactively hunt for currently undetected abuse by leveraging internal data, open-source intelligence and third party private intelligence.
Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material.
Minimum QualificationsProficiency with Python, PHP or similar scripting languagesExperience conducting large scale data analysisExperience investigating and acting on high-impact threats and online threat actorsAbility to think critically and qualify assessments with solid communications skillsProven track record of managing and executing on short term and long term projectsAbility to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversightExperience working across the broader security communityPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated passion or interest in online safety and security initiatives, particularly around vulnerable usersExperience in computer crime investigationsAbility to work with a team spanning multiple locations / time zonesFamiliarity with sophisticated criminal threatsExperience with open source investigation techniques and familiarity with a variety of internet research tools.
