Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.
Through our work, we shape a better world. In Ireland, Arup has been delivering landmark projects since our foundation in 1946.
Today we have almost 600 qualified and accredited professionals based in our Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway offices. We have built a reputation for unrivalled expertise and knowledge and we are now one of the largest engineering consulting firms in Ireland.
As a wholly independent organisation, we are owned in trust for the benefit of staff and their dependants; with no shareholders or external investors we determine our own business priorities and direction.
Staff are allocated profit shares and therefore each individual has an invested interest in our global success.
Arup is a place where creativity, innovation and exciting technical challenges are always possible; we are part of a team that enjoys what they do, embracing a unique culture.
As a global firm we can develop careers in Ireland or abroad through international assignments, and our commitment to training and development is fundamental to ensure we continue to develop our staff and look to the future requirements of our clients.
Due to significant growth in our Water and Flood Risk Management Business, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Hydrologist to join our Irish Flood Risk Management team and support the flood risk team leader in managing a large team in the delivery of a significant number of major flood risk management projects, flood relief schemes and other similar civil engineering projects.
These projects all have climate change adaptation and resilience as a core aim. A sound understanding of hydrological processes and analysis techniques is an essential success factor for these projects.
Arup’s hydrology and hydraulic modelling teams provide this insight, and play a key role in the development of sustainable solutions for a wide range of clients, including OPW, local authorities, major infrastructure providers and private sector clients.
The team also works closely with our related water and maritime teams in Ireland, as well as with our other international offices.
Based in our Dublin office, the ideal candidate will be looking to further their career and gain invaluable experience within an established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in a position of responsibility within a friendly working environment.
This is a permanent role and offers the successful candidate long-term and international opportunities. The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects within the water / flood risk sector.
He / she will work closely together with the Flood Risk Team Leader and will be responsible for the further development of water related skills within the team.
The role will involve leading on a range of technical tasks, mentoring and supervision of more junior staff members, as well as active engagement in skills capacity building in hydrological techniques across the firm.
