What will I be doing?

EY’s business development team isresponsible for driving the firm’s growth by managing client relationships todrive business winning opportunities.

Driving innovation to ensure provision ofmarket leading, relevant and highly-targeted solutions to clients. Devising andexecuting relevant account strategies.

Engaging with teams to support them on theirmost important strategic pursuits and making a sustained contribution to thecontinued enhancement of the EY Business Development function.

  • As the Business Development Manager(BDM), you’ll be working closely with the various service line and sub serviceline leads helping them identify, qualify, and prioritize sales leads;
  • developsales strategies and plans; coordinate tenders and track opportunities. The BDMwill have responsibility for a portfolio of our priority clients and will berequired to devise, coordinate and track strategic account plans, opportunitypipelines and relationship strategies.

    Responsibilities include but arenot limited to :

    Account Management & BidManagement

    oDevelop and maintain account plans and regularly review these againstestablished targets

    oAct as a central point of knowledge for all information related tothe accounts they support

    oWork closely with internal industry centres to develop specialityknowledge

    oBe involved in the marketing strategy of client-specific innovativesolutions

    oIdentify, coordinate and participate in client relationshipbuilding activities and meetings where appropriate.

    oProvide bid content support to the business, coordinatingstrategic tenders, assisting in the preparation of client pitches andsupporting proposal reviews

    oBe involved in the client feedback / review process which willconsist of managing the data collated and taking part in review meetings.

    Business reporting

    oSupport our client facing professionals in their market approachby preparing client / sector research and analysis.

    oUnderstand and identify relevant hot topics and translate theseinto new business opportunities.

    oProvide in depth views and analysis on sales strategies, trendsand relevant statistics etc.

    oCreate close working relationships with respective professionalsand sector specialists in order to coordinate the use and dissemination ofbusiness analysis, press releases, financial information, competitiveintelligence and relevant firm thought leadership.

    oAssist with accurate use of our CRM system to ensure account teamsmaximise the value they gain from this and that all content is kept accurateacross all accounts.

    oDemonstrate an understanding of principles and practices of salesand pipeline management.

    Requirements for prospectivecandidates include :

    oYou have at least 5 years relevant work experience in businessdevelopment, account management or similar

    oYou must be proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel andPowerPoint) and have experience of managing client relationshipdatabases / tools

    oYou demonstrate excellent writing, communication, active listeningand presentation skills

    oYou have confident stakeholder management skills and experiencewith working directly with senior stakeholders to influence and add value

    oProfessional Services experience preferable but not essential

    oExperience with bid management preferable but not essential

    oExcellent written, oral, presentation and facilitationskills

    oAbility to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives simultaneouslythrough effective prioritisation, organisation, flexibility andself-

    discipline. Must have demonstrated project management experience.

    oCan work with minimal supervision, to make decisions and progressactivities
