Qualifications / Skills

  • Minimum competency requirements progressing towards APA / CIP Qualification
  • Decision making skills and sound numeric skills required.
  • High level interpersonal and communication (verbal / written) skills
  • Experience Required

  • Insurance sales experience a definite advantage
  • Sales negotiation and administration skills highly desirable
  • Experience working in a pressurised environment with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrable history of customer services
  • Specific Responsibilities

    Under the overall direction of the Team Manager and Team Leader and working in collaboration with the sales team, the Inbound Sales Agent will be responsible for ensuring that incoming sales enquiries are managed in a professional manner in order to convert calls to sales.

  • This includes but is not limited to : a) excellent knowledge of household and motor insurance; b) excellent knowledge of policy coverage;
  • c) achievement of SLAs and Sales Targets; and d) excellent communication and Sales Management skills.

    Core Tasks

  • To receive and handle inbound telephone sales enquiries in accordance with Client and Regulatory requirements, including use of call scripts.
  • To respond to Customer enquiries and questions (product or service) in a confident and knowledgeable manner, including where appropriate the managing and resolving of complaints.
  • Reportable complaints to be escalated in accordance with client and OSG procedures.

  • To discuss and explain client products and service / procedures with prospective customers as required.
  • Communicate persuasively with Customers to maximise sales, subject to Regulatory and Client requirements.
  • To use our client IT Infrastructure to input customer information in order to obtain a quote.
  • Working collaboratively with the client Leadership Team to consistently achieve SLAs and Sales Targets.
  • To support the Inbound Sales Team Leader in the development of team.
  • Active involvement in weekly sales team meetings.
  • Commitment to own development and involvement in quarterly performance review.
  • Actively support Inbound Sales Team Leader and colleagues in the provision of excellent service to both customers and the Client, including but not limited to identification of potential operational improvements.
  • Comply with internal procedures regarding recording of (management) information.
  • To work with Quality Assurance Manager, Sales Coach and Inbound Team Leader to support development of sales capability and regulatory compliance within team.
  • To support colleagues as required.
  • Any other tasks as may be required.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Accurately and efficiently handle information in a manner that complies with regulatory requirements. Ambitious, results orientated, desire to exceed targets.
  • Manage own time and priorities and remain focused, positive and enthusiastic when issues are encountered.
  • Work positively as part of a team and in supporting and motivating others to achieve team objectives.

  • Financials including fulfilment of Sales SLAs such as Conversion and Retention : Team and Individual.
  • Creative / persuasive customer management to maximise sales, adhering to best practice.
  • Complaints, Quality Assurance & Team Audit Results.
