Here's how this role will help : This position is responsible for developing and leading all strategic sourcing activities in support of Mylan’s third party finished dosage form (FDF) category in Europe with an annual spend of over $500 million.
This position will direct and oversee FDF sourcing and purchasing activities within the region. This position will be part of an interdependent global sourcing and procurement team located in multiple geographies and will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing and other initiatives across the product line.
Focus on leveraging global reach to implement strategies to reduce COGS and mitigate risk.
Provide regional leadership and strategic direction as it relates to procurement of goods and services for FDF including supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, contracting, commercialization, and life cycle management including developing synergy programs across the global platform and the third-
party FDF supplier base. Position will be responsible for developing and managing an optimized supply base that will meet current and future requirements.
Manage sourcing programs, processes and staff and ensure adherence to quality, compliance, service, intellectual property, and ethical standards and guidelines.
Drive new product success via effective interaction with business development and manufacturing teams.
Understand and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations and strategic importance of critical products within the category in order to implement appropriate sourcing strategies and programs.
Perform high level data mining analysis to extract value, mitigate risk and report results.
Lead and support regional and local cost savings, repatriation, alternate source, risk mitigation and life cycle management programs to optimize the supply base and reduce COGS.
Develop metrics, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data driven decision making.
Develop and implement best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques . Develop and implement world-class supply chain processes, procedures and negotiation tactics and strategies
Know portfolio and identify products, channels, cost drivers, and emerging technologies and services in order to lead change to existing channels or to suggest alternatives.
Partner and coordinate with Business Development, Supply Chain, Quality and business unit management to manage supplier relationships and deliver the highest value possible from all third party FDF suppliers.

Here are the minimum qualifications and essential functions for this position :
Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and generic marketplace with a core competency in outsourcing of third party finished dosage forms including knowledge of sourcing and purchasing processes, negotiation tactics, supplier competitive analysis, COGS reduction programs, make Vs buy analysis, bid and tender programs, performance metrics, profit sharing arrangements, sourcing strategies, risk mitigation and contract management.
Must possess an understanding of best-in-class sourcing management processes and techniques.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of sourcing / purchasing / supply chain or other relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
