Bristol-Myers Squibb External Manufacturing is looking for a permanent Customer Service and Inventory Manager to lead customer planning and inventory management activities within the External Manufacturing organization.

The Customer Service and Inventory Manager will be responsible for leading the customer planning teams to manage activities related to forecasts, purchasing and customer order fulfilment to ensure a high level of service and smooth supply of product.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the management, oversight and reporting for all External Manufacturing owned inventory at internal and external locations globally.

Key Responsibilities : Customer Service

Customer Service

  • Manage External Manufacturing Tolling Centre in Ireland to ensure a high level of Customer Service
  • Manage the efficient processing of orders and clear communication with internal and global stakeholders
  • Support the compliant supply of product to our customers
  • Ensure all import and export activities are executed correctly
  • Support product divestitures to ensure a smooth transition
  • Support and execute all new supply models, product launches, product transfers
  • Ensure that data accuracy is maintained for all customer planning owned data
  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain, Quality and Financial procedures
  • Maintain credit limits for third party customers and release sales orders as requested
  • Manage month and year end customer planning activities, ensuring finance deadlines are met and financial reporting is accurate
  • Maintain all transfer prices for Swords Laboratories and calculate credit / debit due to markets as a result of retrospective pricing
  • Work with Finance to ensure that correct fiscal details are used for new supply models
  • Provide information to support Financial Audits
  • Inventory Management

  • Responsible for the management of all types of inventory owned by ExM
  • Determines, implements and maintains the appropriate inventory control parameters in the SAP system
  • Responsible for ensuring financial provisions are in place and accurately maintained
  • Responsible for the management of excess and obsolete inventory
  • Implements a cost recovery program for excess inventory
  • Proactively identifies inventory issues and implements solutions after consultation with the relevant business leaders
  • Trouble shoot cost risks to the business and develop process and control points to mitigate under GMP guidelines and practice
  • Meet inventory reporting requirements at local, regional and global levels. This includes daily, monthly and projected inventory levels v’s actual and budgeted inventory levels across all inventory types
  • Participates in inventory audits and cycle counts as required. Performs investigations and gap analysis as necessary
  • Conducts thorough and careful analysis of data, gathers critical information
  • Establishes strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Has oversight responsibility to ensure ExM inventory data is maintained accurately and in a timely manner
  • Team work / Safety / Development

  • Promote a high performance team culture within customer planning and inventory teams
  • Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders to optimize communication channels and information flow
  • Support the implementation of EHS policies in the customer planning and inventory teams
  • Set objectives and guidelines for all personnel, provide feedback on performance through the performance connections process
  • Required Competencies

  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts and practices in Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Food or FMCG industries
  • Knowledge of technology, ERP, materials planning and financial controls
  • Knowledge of international customs & trade, taxation, transfer pricing and cGMP regulatory requirements
  • Excellent Analytical and PC application knowledge
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • Understands BMS products and markets
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and organizations
  • Capable to interact with key decision makers in manufacturing technology, quality, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, finance, legal, EHS
  • Required Qualifications and Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sciences, Engineering, Supply chain or finance. Master’s degree and APICS certification desirable
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic supply chain and supply relationship management
  • Strong background in inventory management in complex, multi-site organizations
  • Experience in working within a global and culturally diverse matrix organization
  • Demonstrated ability in performing in a dynamic, fast paced, changing and demanding environment
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to organise and present information to cross-functional audiences and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to frame and build concepts and ideas and develop and execute strategic plans as required
  • Good understanding of business specific organization, functions and business support systems (manufacturing, packaging, artwork, regulatory, marketing, quality control / quality assurance and supply chain
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle and obsolescence
  • SAP and SAP Business Warehouse system knowledge
  • Knowledge of cost and / or inventory accounting principles
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations within the overall business organization and structure
